Justice Tukur Mu’azu of Kaduna state High Court convicted and sentenced Baba to seven years imprisonment without option of fine for offences bordering on obtaining money by false pretence.
The convict was arraigned before Justice Mu’azu on Thursday, January 7 on allegation of defrauding one Alhaji Auwal Ibrahim of Rahusa Investment Limited, Sabon Hunkuyi, Kaduna state sometime in 2011, over a phony gas supply contract.

The victim allegedly paid the convict N1million for the supply of five trucks of gas at the rate of N.2million per truck.

BANKER HIRES ASSASINS TO KILL EX HUSBAND

By: OGUNDARE YETUNDE and YUSUFF KUDIRAT

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspected hired-assassins and a female banker over failed attempt to assassinate her ex-husband identified as Tochukwu Onyebuchi.
The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu paraded the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Abeokuta on Wednesday.
He said the banker, Oluchi Tochukwu, hired the suspected criminals to assassinate her husband in his residence at Ayobo area of Lagos State.

Iliyasu named the two suspected assassins as Chigozie Smart (32) and Kingsley Ikechukwu (36).
He said they were intercepted and arrested on Oct. 19 at Ijebu-Ode while attempting to escape to Onitsha with the victim’s Range Rover Jeep.
He said Oluchi was arrested at Ayobo area of Lagos State.
He said, “One Oluchi, a 32-year-old banker, who is married to one Tochukwu Onyebuchi years ago, got separated from her husband following some matrimonial problems.
“The custody of their only child is currently being contested in the court but Oluchi has another plan.
“She connived with the trio of Chigozie Smart, Kingsley Ikechukwy and one other who is now at large to eliminate her husband.
“She arranged for the weapons which includes cutlass, iron rods and acid which she kept in her husband’s compound at Ayobo area of Lagos State and described where she kept it to the assailants.
“The suspects went there on Wednesday as planned and matcheted the man severally on his head and poured the acid on him.
“The suspects thereafter abandoned the victim and took away his range Rover Jeep which Oluchi instructed them to drop at her brother’s place in Onitsha, Anambra State.
“Luck ran against them when a patrol team of the Ogun State command on Wednesday sighted the vehicle along the Ijebu-Ode/Benin expressway and stopped it for search.
“While searching the vehicle, blood stain was seen and the two occupants were unable to give satisfactory account of the blood stain, hence, they were arrested.
“It was during interrogation that the suspects revealed all that transpired to the police.”
The commissioner said that the victim, who had been treated at an undisclosed hospital, was in the custody of the police helping them in the process of investigation.
Oluchi, however, denied contracting the duo of Chigozie and Kingsley and one other at large to assassinate her husband.
Oluchi, who acknowledged that her three-year-old marriage to her husband had crashed, told journalists that she had no reason to kill him.

Meanwhile, Chigozie told newsmen that it was Oluchi who hired them to kill her husband with a promise to purchase “Tokunbo” cars for each of them after a successful operation.

APC Will Collapse By January If Things Continue Like This – Acting Spokesman

By: Obayomi Omolade  and Onifade Miriam and Adeshina odunayo

The acting National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Timi Frank has warned that unless President Muhammadu Buhari takes urgent action, the party would collapse.
He believes it could happen by January 2017. He gave this warning in Abuja while appraising recent developments in the party, revealing that several realignments were presently going on in the country which could make the APC cease to exist totally by 2019.
Timi Frank said the only way to rescue the party would be for the president to intervene and support calls for the resignation of Chief John Odigie-Oyegun as the national chairman of the APC.
He reminded the President of how Chief Oyegun as chairman of ANPP frustrated him [Buhari] out of the party, forcing him to go and form the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).

“The same thing is now happening in the APC and Mr President has to act fast because that same thing that drove him out of the ANPP then is also about to drive some people out of the APC because of Oyegun,” he stated.
Frank who claimed he was speaking the mind of most members and other stakeholders of the party, asserted that “at the appropriate time, more leaders of the party would speak out.”
He said he would soon write formally to the President and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, as well as the leadership of the National Assembly to seek their audience in other to adequately brief them on the circumstances that have necessitated the calls for Odigie-Oyegun’s resignation.
“I will also consult the governors (of our party) to make them understand the danger inherent in their silence in the face of the wave of crisis that has enveloped the party.
“This is like a rescue mission I am about to embark on. This struggle to rescue APC is not personal. It is because I love this party so much and I am a very loyal party man and I believe in this party.
“I am also going to pay a visit to our former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; I will also visit Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all the past national chairmen that made the merger to work. I am going to pay visit to my own former national chairman, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, of the then New PDP, Chief Bisi Akande of the then ACN, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu of the then ANPP, Chief Tony Momoh of defunct CPC and Gov Rochas Okorocha who led a section of the APGA to make the APC. This visit is one that I will start anytime soon.”

Governor Ambode Rolls Out N500m For Disabled In Lagos

By: Ayinla Olamide and Ajayi Ayooluwa

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Tuesday inaugurated the Governing Board of the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs, LASODA, to manage the N500 million Disability Trust Fund, DTF, expressing optimism that it would aid people living with disabilities in the state to realize their dreams and live more comfortable lives.
Ambode, who spoke at the Lagos House, Alausa, in Ikeja, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria while inaugurating the Board, said it was in fulfillment of his administration’s promise to ensure that the affairs of people living with disabilities was managed by people passionate enough to show that there is ability in disability.
“The Board will also manage the Disability Trust Fund. In fulfillment of the promise I made on May 29th, 2016, this Fund has in its kitty today, N500m with a marching order to solicit from the public and other charitable organisations, additional support for its objectives, he said.

“We could not have done otherwise, given the array of people with disabilities who possess requisite qualification, experience and character. In addition, we believe in their ability to manage the Disability Trust Fund more judiciously because they have a more personal understanding of the needs and situation of our less privileged people. This fund will give our brothers and sisters a needed boost to make a livelihood for themselves and a chance to fulfill their potentials,” he added.

TEACHER SEXUALLY ASSAULTS A 12 YEAR OLD STUDENT BY PUTTING HIS MANHOOD IN HER MOUTH

By: OGUNYEMI DEBORAH

A teacher, Enilolobo Olamilekan, has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting one of his students at Abogunloko area in Ikotun, Lagos.

Olamilekan, who hails from Lagos State, admitted to have lured the girl to his parent’s apartment at 17 Ayodele Shitta Street, where he took advantage of the 12-year-old Junior Secondary School 2 student.

Parading the suspect before journalists at her Oduduwa office, Ikeja yesterday, Lagos State Police image maker, Dolapo Badmus, explained that the suspect was apprehended by the school’s management after her mother lodged a complaint.
However, Olamilekan explained that he did not have carnal knowledge of the girl. Rather, he said he only put his manhood into her mouth.
According to him, “I teach them Business Studies, while I take some of the students on extra lesson after school hours. Her mother requested for a private lesson for her daughter and I told the mother to get her writing materials last Tuesday.
“But on Wednesday, she did not do her home work and when I asked why, she said that her mother had not bought her the books. She also said that she was hungry.
“After giving them the assignment for the day, I went to a shop to buy some things and she followed me. I bought her some books, biscuits and also gave her N50. But the owner of the shop said I should return the empty bottles of soft drinks I earlier bought. She told the girl to follow me to collect them. But when she got home, I brought out my manhood and put it inside her mouth.
“But when I saw my younger brother, through the window, returning from school, I removed it.”
The bubble burst after the girl’s curious mother got wind of what happened and subsequently reported the case at the Ikotun Police Division.

The suspect, according to Badmus, will be charged for indecent assault, admonishing parents to be wary of those they leave their children with, particularly the girls.

Another nominee rejects Buhari's offer as ELECTRICITY COMMISSION CHAIRMAN . .

By: OKE ZAINAB and OGUNDARE DEBORAH

It is the third major blow for President Muhammadu Buhari within one week as another Nigerian has rejected an offer from his government.

This time, Professor Akintunde Akinwande has reportedly rejected an offer by the president to serve in the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) as chairman.

This was made obvious by Akinwande’s absence at the Senate session on Tuesday, October 25 when he and his other nominees were to be screened.
The Nation quoted a source as saying Akinwande turned down the offer based on the alleged fact that he was not consulted before the nomination was made.

Two other Nigerians, including Pauline Tallen from Plateau state had earlier rejected Buhari’s offer to be Nigeria’s diplomats based on the excuse that there were no adequate consultations.

I HAVE NOT HAD SEX IN 10 YEARS.... SAYS DAUGHTER OF FORMER GOVERNOR OF OYO STATE

By: OLALEYE JOHNSON and ADIGUN DAMILOLA

Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo, the outspoken daughter of a former governor of Oyo state, Victor Omololu-Olunloyo, has revealed why she has not been enjoying sex.
Olunloyo, known for her straightforward comments on social issues, told IBTimes UK during a recent interview that few African women (especially Nigerians) are willing to speak about their experiences with Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) which she claims is one of the reasons some of them have poor libido and urge for mating.

She has therefore advised such affected individuals to use sex toys in order to get maximum satisfaction rather than sleep with men who are not likely to satisfy them.

According to her “Sex is not important. I have no libido or urge to have sex and I’ve been celibate for 10 years. Millions of women in Nigeria go through this, but they cannot talk or be outspoken like me. It is shameful and a disgrace to them.

“Many women say they fake orgasms and others have husbands who go out to prostitutes and girlfriends. FGM has destroyed marriages here.

GOVERNMENT FREES 7000 PRISONERS IN ORDER TO FIGHT CORRUPTION

By: ADUDU TEMITOPE and OYEWUNMI ZAINAB

Almost 7,000 prisoners have been released from Kenyan prisons in order to create space for “more serious offenders”, local media reports.

President Uhuru Kenyatta told Kenyans during the Mashujaa Day celebrations – a holiday to commemorate those who took part in the country’s liberation struggle – that petty offenders such as chicken thieves would be released:
“There is now space to bring in more people with serious offences like corruption… The space is there and there is enough beans for them to eat in there.”

Mr Kenyatta admitted that corruption remained a fundamental issue affecting Kenya, instructing the new chief justice to be vigilant in fighting corruption cases.

Earlier this week, the president criticized various government agencies for hampering the fight against corruption.

By: Adeko Damilola and Ayobami Grace

State, after he was accused of robbery.

EL DORADO  learnt that a businesswoman, identified
only as Bolanle, had claimed that she was robbed by
the deceased on September 10.

Bolanle, around 8pm of the next day, was alleged to

They were said to have descended on the 50-year-old
and beaten him to a pulp before putting him in a truck
they brought.

Our correspondent learnt that on the way, the group
was intercepted by some vigilance group members,
who took the case to the Sagamu Police Division.
The victim was said to have been referred to a
hospital, and died a few weeks later.

The victim’s wife, Toyin, said her husband was taken

She said, “On that day, a man knocked on our door
around 8pm. Suddenly, a woman, who had hid behind
him, emerged, and held my husband by the waist.
“She claimed that my husband robbed her in a cab the
previous day. My husband denied it and my attempt

where they parked their truck and five hoodlums came

MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION, ROTIMI AMAECHI CALLS SUPREME COURT JUDGE.. A LIAR!!!!

By: OLALEYE JOHNSON.

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has responded to the accusations of corruption by Supreme Court Justice John Inyang Okoro.
Okoro was quoted as saying that Buhari’s minister tried to bribe him to influence the court decision in the election tribunal of Rivers state, Abia state and Akwa-Ibom state.
Minister Amaechi in a concise press statement issued earlier, said that the accusations are a figment of the judge’s imagination.
The statement reads: “This accusation from Justice Okoro against Amaechi is a figment of his imagination, concocted to obfuscate and politicize the real issues for his arrest and DSS investigation of allegations of corruption against him.”
“The claims by Justice Okoro against Amaechi are blatant lies, bereft of any iota of truth or even logic. Amaechi did not, and has never approached Justice Okoro in respect of the cases Okoro mentioned or any other case. This is a cheap attempt, albeit, political move to drag the name of Amaechi into something he knows nothing about. Justice Okoro should face his issues and leave Amaechi out of it.
“He will be hearing from our lawyers.”
The minister further pledged to take the issue to court.
L-R: Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.

During the past administration, Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers state was popularly known as the most controversial governor in Nigeria.
And now in the incumbent government he is one of the most controversial Buhari’s ministers.
The group petitioned the Senate asking that Amaechi should not be confirmed as a minister, accusing him of enriching himself with the state’s money while he was governor.
However, the ex-governor denied all accusations.
